Biography
After a short Art formation, Stéphanie Kilgast studied and obtained a masters in architecture.
During her studies, in the summer of 2007, she discovered the world of miniatures while searching for a new and appealing craft.
Little did she know how much this form of art would impassionate her.
With a strong penchant for colors and abstract painting, her work focused on the subtle balance of colors.
Choosing food to replicate in miniature is to emphasize the instinctive need of sustenance, but also the pleasure which lies in eating. Of course, the variation in color and shades that can be found in food are a never-ending inspiration to her.
Sculpting in miniature is a daily challenge that she enjoys and the small scale gives her the opportunity to question what we see and think we see, especially in her photography.
Miniatures are usually appreciated because they make you think you can put the world in your pocket. Simply put, Stéphanie's work makes people happy, and that is probably her ultimate goal.
