Tranquil, Gopher Tortoise, 2018

Watercolor Painting on 100% Cotton Paper, Fine Grain, Cold Pressed,
18 x 24 cm – 7 x 9,5 inches

I decided to do “Inktober” 2018.
This painting is the second one for the prompt “tranquil”.
Rather inspired by Morla, the swamp turtle in the never-ending story by Michael Ende, but also by the great A’tuin from the discworld series by Terry Pratchett.
I picked a gopher tortoise (which is on the brink of extinction) and let grow a forest on her back. She’s moving at night time, slowly, determined and with the tranquility of the wise.
